Highlight Bartending Competition 2018 – Artist Behind The Bar

Pioneered by The Bar Times Media Online, Highlight Bartending Competition 2018 is the first competition in Indonesia to combine offline and online voting. This competition is a promise realized by The Bar Times to its readers as a one-stop digital magazine for all news related to bars and restaurants.

This competition aims to find the first artist/celebrity bartender. Other goals include shedding more positive details of bartending as a profession, where a bartender is actually a talented artist behind the bar with creativity to make special concoctions and lure visitors to visit a venue – this occupation is often negatively associated with drunks and alcoholic beverages.

Videos of bartenders participating in Highlight Bartending Competition 2018 will be judged based on the number of viewers, likes and shares on social media platforms. Video shoots took place at WET Ultra Lounge Legian on 10^th March 2018. During the shoots, each contestant’s performance was reviewed by judges – who are professional bartenders. The results are then combined with social media voting by viewers. Finally, 20 best young talents in Bali’s bartending scene were selected and later divided into two categories; Flair and Mixology. Three female contestants certainly add their own charms to the competition.

Netizens and public are hoped to review and judge the contestants’ performance by liking, sharing videos and commenting on each video that will be uploaded on 20^th April 2018 by The Bar Times’ three social media platforms – Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. Voting will be closed on 10^th May 2018 and winners will be announced on 12^th May 2018 at WET Ultra Lounge Legian.
