Charity Flair Bartending competition is one of the unique concepts from Viaipi Club & Sports bar, Kuta, Bali. This event is the first bartending competition are held from 20-21 December 2017 by Vi Ai Pi Club & Sports bar and the competition will be held annually. There are two categories on this event, the first day is for the beginner bartenders and there are 16 contestants and the second day is for the professional with 12 contestants. Head of the event organizer Mr. Ardi made the concept of this event is about Charity for Mount Agung refugee, the bartender showed their performances to served cocktails in 6 minutes with freestyle attraction.
The bartenders are completely free to make their creation based on available ingredients from the sponsors such as Smirnoff, Squeeze juice, Captain Morgan, and so on, but also they allowed to brought extra liquors. Some of the beginner contestants already worked in several well-known bars in Bali such as Kudeta, La plancha, Bali Tropic Nusa Dua, and so on and few of them already joined another bartending competition previously. The second day is for professional bartenders, many of them already work overseas in cruise, Hard rock Hotel, own their brands, bartending school teachers, or winning several of flair bartending competition. The second day contestant performance is more magnificence and even some of them did juggle semi-dance performance.
Highly enthusiasm from the visitor or invitation guest, when they did auction for bought the cocktails started from Rp 50.000,00 per glass on the first day and the auction started from
Rp 100.000,00 on the second day, then the revenue will be donated to Mount Agung
refugee. The purpose of this event is enriched bartending skills and promoted Bali bartenders into the International scale, because mainly visitor of the venue it is from Australia. The judges are Mr. Gungwah yoga (Head of Asia Bartender Association), Mr. Gus Ganda and Mr. Bayu Hendra (Association Bartender of Indonesia), they scored performance like the real bartender who served their hospitality with some of the criteria, such as : originality, smoothness, difficulties, hygiene & sanitation, technical execution (shaker handler until garnish sections), and also there are minus score from some categories, such as : spill, dope, break, and so on.
The first day winner is Judi Kusuma.
The second day winner is Aldi Suardana-Azul Beach club Bali
2nd position : Ekha Nak Juugler- Flair Forever Bali
3rd position : Putu Purna Yasa- Hard Rock Hotel Bali
